Day 53 – Christiansburg, VA to Lexington, VA – 92 miles

We’re starting to sound like a broken record – another beautiful day for cycling, even cooler than yesterday and the scenery was fabulous. Virginia is becoming our favorite state on this trip. Lots of wildlife today (I saw about 12 deer), and we tried to do a study on the painted quilts on the side of houses and barns but started too late.

Lots of elevation gain again with the rolling hills but less steep.

So here’s a pictorial summary of our day:

Ridin’ along the river
Check out the goat on the left and the donkey on the right. 🤣 I could make a political comment…
I might do this with my bike when the trip is done!
This little guy looked like an orange gummy bear!
Caught the morning light
Another cool barn
