Today started an hour later than expected – Mark had to change both tires on his bike.
So, off we went expecting to cut our 120 mile day down to 80 miles. In the end we compromised at 100 miles, which means we’ll need to do 120 tomorrow. Ugh.
The highlights of my day were:
1. Chatting with more people on the phone – love the calls!!!
2. Getting a grasshopper and a butterfly in my shirt. Made for some interesting swerving en route!
3. Cooler than expected temps – 84 degree high
4. Finishing a pretty good book on Audible, but it’s time to move on from the WWII genre.
Mark’s highlights:
1. Talking with other cyclists – we saw 3
2. George Washington Carver sign
Brad and Sue’s highlights:
1. The place we had lunch – had a picnic table and nice restrooms
2. The Barbed Wire Museum in La Crosse, KS. There’s obviously a museum for anything and everything and this one had over 2500 examples of barbed wire.
3. Going back to help a tortoise cross the road.
As you can see, the blog pickings are getting slim.
The good news: not as many cows and more crops.
Yay.
Hi Tammy and Mark – this journey is epic! Unless I’ve missed it tell me a little about the bikes you have. You’re analogue Mark? And Tammy you have pedal assist? Does the battery last each day or do you have a changeover during the day?
